  1. Hi Stacey,

Sorry to email you out of the blue like this but I am a senior in High School at the Friends Select School who has been accepted to the York University theatre program and after doing a search your name came up as a graduate. I am seeking some advice as to whether you liked the program or not. One of my concerns is that the program is so large that I won’t get any one-on-one training. Also, how difficult is it to make the cut after the first year and if you don’t make it what happens after that?

    Thanks for any advice,

    Tessa Kuhn

    • Hey Tessa,

Sorry this reply took so long. I really enjoyed York. It was an incredibly difficult course and I was really tested for the entire three years but it was worth it. After graduation I had the drive to succeed whether out of spite or because I had the strong training…still figuring that out! Haha. I graduated in the Conservatory so there was only 11 of us by the end so there was no shortage of 1 on 1 training. At the end of first year you audition for different streams and then get placed. If you don’t get the placement you want there are always opportunities to audition the following year or take courses that are similar in topic. I hope this helped. Let me know if you have any other questions!
